How to create Tuxedo Nails!

Everyone seems to be doing tuxedo nails at the moment so I thought I'd give them a go myself. They're cool, classic and I think these nails will be perfect for wearing in the winter months.

To create tuxedo nails, you will need:
  • Black nail varnish
  • White nail varnish
  • Dotting tools (or alternatively, cocktail sticks)
  • Nail art tools (or alternatively, cocktail sticks)
Please do not feel like you have to rush out and buy nail art tools as cocktail sticks work just as well.

If you would like to create tuxedo nail all you have to do is follow my nice and easy steps.

Step One:
Apply the black nail varnish to your nails. You may need more than one coat depending on what your nail varnish is like.

Step Two:
Using the white nail varnish and a thin tipped tool, create a ‘V’ section on your nail.

Step Three:
It’s time to create the lapels. To do this, use the white nail varnish and an angled nail art brush. The angle will help to create a perfect line.

Step Four:
A tuxedo isn’t a tuxedo without a bow tie.
To create the buttons, dot 3 black dots in a line.
To create the bow tie, place a dot in the centre and then draw 2 triangle shapes on either side of the dot.
You will need to use the black nail varnish and a small dotting tool to create both the buttons and bow tie.

Step Five:
Once dry, apply a top coat.

I hope you like my version of the classic tuxedo nails! If you have any nail tutorial requests, please feel free to comment below.

The next nail art tutorial will be; Angry Birds Nails.
