Real Techniques Core Collection

The Real Techniques Core Collection consists of four brushes. These include a detailer brush, pointed foundation brush, buffing brush and a contour brush:

Detailer Brush – Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition.

Pointed Foundation Brush – Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage.

Buffing Brush – Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation.

Contour Brush – Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish.

The brushes in the core collection have gold handles, this indicates that the brushes are designed for creating a flawless base. It is important to know that the Real Techniques brushes are colour coded. Brushes with a golden handle are designed to create a base, brushes with a purple handle are designed for the eye area and brushes with a pink handle are also known as finishing brushes.

The brushes are made with super soft taklon bristles meaning they are 100% synthetic. No animal hair was used in the production of these brushes meaning Real Techniques are a cruelty-free brand! Yay!

The brushes in the core collection are displayed neatly in a black brush case. The brush case has a nifty little handle and you're also able to use the case as a stand.

My final thoughts...

I like all of the brushes in this set but I do think the pointed foundation brush is too small. I like to use a fairly big foundation brush when applying my foundation so I think I may have to use this brush for something else. I don't dislike this brush it's just a little too small for my liking, I do however think it's handy for reaching into those awkward nooks and crannies!

I also cannot see how the detailer brush can be used for concealer, it's so tiny! I think I'll stick to using this brush for lipstick application.

The contour brush is not only good for contouring, it's also brilliant for applying blush to the apples of your cheeks. The bristles are just so soft and they feel divine on your cheeks!

The buffing brush is excellent for buffing in foundation, it helps to create a smooth, flawless look.

Hope this post has been helpful!
