Outfit Of The Day: Studs & Khaki

I was recently sent a Next gift card in order to buy some items to review so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone by showing you what I bought and show you todays outfit. I never really buy clothing or accessories from Next so I found it difficult to find something, in the end I opted for a jazzy top and some fancy light up twigs.

Jacket: Miss Selfridge, Top: Next, Tunic: Topshop,
Super Cosy Tights: Primark, Boots: Missguided

Video Version:

I'm first going to talk about my top because I absolutely LOVE it! I like the colour, the style and especially the studded detail, it's a stylish top and fits in well with the A/W trends. I personally think the top looks more expensive than it actually is because it's really well made and there's a lot of detail. The top retails at a mere £20 and is available in 3 different colours; khaki, black and cream. If I hadn't already got a black studded top from Warehouse, I'd have bought this in the black version too.
I like how the top is opaque at the front and sheer at the back, I also like how the top is longer at the back too because it covers your bum! There's nothing worse than wearing a top that doesn't cover your bum when wearing leggings!
I also like how you can dress this top up or down, you could wear it during the day or at night, it's such a versatile piece and you can style it many ways. You could wear the top with trousers, jeans or leggings, and you could even tuck the top into shorts or a skirt. You could also wear it with a leather jacket like I did or opt for a denim jacket or blazer instead.
It's a great piece for autumn/winter and I'll certainly be getting a lot of wear out of it.

I chose to wear my studded boots today as I thought they went well with the top. I've had these boots for a couple of months but today is the first day I've worn them which I feel pretty ashamed of as they're a beautiful pair of boots. The boots are very trendy and stylish but I must admit that they're not the comfiest for shopping in.

I had to feature my lovely light up twigs in my outfit photos because if truth be told, I bloody love them and I'm so glad I bought them with the gift voucher. I've recently had my room decorated so I'm on the lookout for funky accessories and lighting, these are perfect because they look pretty and give off a good amount of light. I had to buy two sets of the twigs because one set looked a bit sparse so if you're planning on buying these light up twigs, definitely buy 2 sets! The twigs retail at £12 which I think is pretty amazing!

I also couldn't not show you my nails, I sat there painting these beauties for a good few hours yesterday and I think they look awesome. I would do a tutorial for them but I doubt you'd want to sit through a 12 hour video or read a blog post the length of a toilet roll!

I hope you liked my outfit of the day and if you have any questions, please feel free to comment below!

Holiday Outfit: Day Five

I'm not going to give this post an introduction as I don't feel there's any need to. Many of you will know that I'm blogging about all of my holiday outfits so I'm just going to crack on and show you what I wore on day five of my jolly holidays.

Rings: Topshop, Earrings: Topshop, Shoes: River Island,
Dress: Missguided

I absolutely love this dress and I'm so pleased that I bought it for my jolly holidays. It's a lovely summery dress that can be dressed up or dressed down, no matter if you're going shopping with your friends or going to a big birthday bash, this is the perfect dress for any occasion. I have only worn this dress once which is rather shameful but I'm hoping we get this supposed 'indian summer' as I'd quite like to wear it again!
There are three things I love about this dress, I love the 'Cath Kidston-esque' floral pattern, the cut-out detail at the waist and the super high neckline. It's a fun, feminine dress and I like it very much.
The dress is also really well-made and made from super sturdy material. I was expecting to hold my dress down every two minutes because of the wind but I can safely say that this baby did not blow up, I didn't have to hold the dress down once.
I really do like this dress and I'll certainly be wearing it next summer too. Missguided still have this dress in-stock so if it floats your boat, there's still a chance to get your hands on it. The link to the dress is provided above.

I'm not going to say much about my white flatforms but if you've read my previous holiday outfit post you'll know that me and my white flatforms fell out on holiday. All you need to know is that they looked lovely and went perfectly with the dress but they ripped my feet to shreds.. ouch!
I also think my accessories matched the dress perfectly too with them being pink and mint green.

I hope you liked my day five holiday outfit, keep a lookout for day six!

Holiday Outfit: Day Four

If you read my blog frequently you'll know that I'm currently in the process of blogging about my holiday outfits but if you're new to my blog then I'm basically putting up an holiday outfit post every other day. A lot of people requested to see my holiday outfits so I thought I'd blog about each and every one of them.

So without further ado, here's what I wore on day four!

Ring: My Shop, Earrings: Miss Selfridge, Sandals: ALDO,
Dress: Miss Selfridge

This dress looks perfect for wearing in hot weather but do not let it fool you. Yes it's made from super light material, yes it does have a cut out piece in the centre and yes it is a maxi dress but it's one of the worst dresses you could possibly wear in summer. It clung to my legs when I walked, creased like hell when I sat down and it generally made me feel as if I was going to melt. I thought that the dress would be airy due to the material and the cut out centre and but I was totally wrong. Despite the dress making me feel like I was going to die, it looked nice and went well with my tan!

My sandals and accessories went well with the dress too, I love the combination of coral and cream (they're two of my favourite colours!). I'm also not exaggerating when I say this but my ALDO sandals are possibly the comfiest sandals I've ever purchased, they don't rub or cause nasty blisters and they are really easy to walk in. Not only are they comfy but they go with pretty much anything too!
I'll definitely be purchasing another pair of ALDO sandals next year that's for sure.

I hope you liked my day four holiday outfit! Stay tuned for day five!

Holiday Outfit: Day Three

As I said in my previous outfit related post, I'm going to be posting about my holiday outfits over the next couple of weeks so you're going to be seeing my face frequently (oh you lucky things!).

So here's what I wore on day three of my jolly holidays!

Ring: ASOS, Necklace: Topshop, Shoes: River Island,
Shorts: River Island, Crop Top: River Island

There's something very nautical and sailorish about my outfit and I don't know what's giving me that impression, think it's something so do with the large amount of navy and white I'm wearing. I think if someone had given me a white hat, I could have WELL passed off as ship worker!

My nautical outfit was a practical outfit to wear on holiday as it was really hot. At night the temperatures reached 44 degrees so wearing little was always a good option. On the nights when I had no option but to wear my lovely maxi dresses, it was horrendous. My dresses constantly stuck to the back of my legs, my hair ended up wet through and I honestly thought I was going to melt. So if you ever plan on visiting Greece in August, don't bother taking dresses, just take shorts and crop tops.
Wearing little was a brilliant option but taking my white flatforms on holiday, however, was NOT a good option. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, these are the most un-comfiest shoes I've ever bought in my whole entire life and I'm even considering writing to River Island. They ripped my feet to shreds and because of this, made me waddle like a penguin. If my mum hadn't had taken blister plasters on holiday with her, I'd have had to walk around barefoot! Not only did they make my feet feel like they'd been attacked with a chainsaw, they also got dirty really easily and if you know me well, you'll know that I HATE dirty shoes. I'm just not a happy chap with these shoes, they're an utter mare!

Despite the killer shoes, I loved my outfit. The navy and white compliment each other so well and I think the cross necklace added something extra.

I hope you liked my nautical themed outfit and keep an eye out for my holiday outfit day four!

Holiday Outfit: Day Two

So guess who's back from their jolly holidays?... ME! I'm finally back in 'sunny' England after my 2 weeks holiday in the lovely resort of Zakynthos (or Zante as most of you will be familiar with)! I had an amazing time in Zante and really wish I could have stayed for an extra two weeks, I even prayed for an ash cloud (selfish moi). I had been to the same resort back in 2010 so I knew what it was going to be like but even though I knew the ropes, I still had a blast!

Whilst on my jolly holidays I took photographs of each of my outfits (for example, day 1 and day 2 etc) so that I would have 14 holiday OOTD posts to pop on my blog. Some of you might not be interested in my holiday outfits but for those of you who are, my holiday OOTD posts will be spread out over the next few weeks, I may even do one every day for the next two weeks if you're lucky! (or if I remember too, I honestly have a brain like a sieve).

I haven't taken photographs of my day one outfit as I'd been travelling since 2am and didn't look the best. I had bags under my eyes and looked a little like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards. No fun. Those photographs would probably be enough to put you off reading my blog, or better still, make you cry.

So without further ado, here's my day two holiday outfit!

Ring: Topshop, Necklace: Forever 21, Sandals: River Island,
Playsuit: New Look

Excuse the misty photographs, for some reason my iPhone decided to only take misty photographs for the first couple of days of my holiday. I think it was something to do with the lens adjusting to the sunshine so at least I know there's nothing horrendously wrong with my phone (couldn't live without that beauty). Despite the fluffy cloudiness, you can still get an idea of what the outfit is meant to look like.

There's nothing I can really say about the outfit other than it was super comfy and it was ideal for wearing in 38 degrees heat. The playsuit is made from very floaty, thin material so it was great for wearing in a hot climate. The necklace and ring match perfectly with the mint green flowers in the playsuit too. I did plan on wearing white sandals with the playsuit but I decided to go for tan sandals instead as the white looked a little harsh against the black.

Oh, I opted for orange lips too because I wanted to feel tropical and fruity! Bit of a pointless statement but I thought I'd give you all an explanation for the bright orange lips.

I hope you like my first holiday outfit and if you're keen on the idea of me posting one daily for the next two weeks then please let me know!

Thanks for reading and it's good to be back!

Outfit Of The Day: Tribal Skirt & Devil Shoes

You're probably all wondering why I titled this OOTD 'Tribal Skirt & Devil Shoes' but it will all make sense if you read my waffle at the end of this post.

It's been a glorious day today so I thought I'd make the most of it and wear some of my lovely summery clothes. I have a wardrobe full of unworn summer clothes so I'm trying to wear them whenever I get the chance to. I heard on the grapevine that the nice weather ends on Friday (my 21st birthday *cries*) so I'm going to try and wear some of my summer clothes this week!

Anyway, enough the summer clothes tale, here's what I wore today!

Denim Jacket: Topshop, Sheer Top: Topshop, Crop Top: Topshop,
Maxi Skirt: River Island, Ballet Pumps: Primark, Necklace: Forever 21

I have been wanting to wear this skirt for a while but because it's literally rained non stop since April, I've not been able to. A skirt in puddle situation would not be sexy at all.
When I saw that it was cracking the flags this morning I jumped at the chance and popped the skirt on. It's a lovely maxi skirt but I can't help but think I look like a tribal warrior when wearing it. The skirt has a split at either side so if I spread my legs apart I look like something from Zorro. Despite the 'Zorroness' it's a nice skirt and it's perfect for wearing in the hot weather as it's nice and breezy.

Also, as you all know, I love mint green and I especially love my mint green ballet pumps as they're such an amazing colour but the one thing I don't like about them is that they feel awful, I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the devil. No matter how much you try and 'break them in', it will just not happen. They are the most uncomfortable shoes ever and they leave you with massive blisters... attractive. The only reason why I put them on is because they matched my top and necklace so well. In future I'll be wearing them when I'm only going to be out the house for half an hour.

I really liked this outfit and this is mainly due to the mint greeness, however, I slightly regret wearing a sheer top over my crop top as I've been boiling all day. In hindsight I should have left the denim jacket and sheer top at home.

Have you made the most of todays glorious weather?

Outfit Of The Day: Coral is a summer colour but it's not very summery right now!

If you know me well or have watched any of my hauls on Youtube, you'll know that I absolutely love coral. If you had a peek inside my wardrobe you'd probably think that I have some sort of addiction to coral clothes, shoes and accessories.

One piece of coral clothing I've been loving lately is a jacket I recently bought from Zara. Online it was described as a 'jacket with zips' and that's basically what it is, a jacket with lots of zips. Zara sold the jacket in 2 different colours, fluro coral and cream. I obviously went for the fluro coral colour as it's fun, vibrant and most importantly, coral.
It's a beautiful jacket and I have been dying to feature it in an OOTD, it's just the rain has prevented me from doing this.

Jacket: Zara, Ombré T-Shirt: Topshop, Jeans: Topshop, Converse: Schuh,
Necklace: Accessorize, Ring: My Shop

This is the kind of outfit that I'd wear when going shopping. It's simple and comfy yet it looks quite jazzy. I especially like the ombré t-shirt as it's different to a plain white t-shirt, the 'ombréness' also ties in well with the jacket too.

The Topshop leigh jeans are also the comfiest jeans in the world and I think this is due to them being so super soft. I especially like the colour of these leigh jeans as they're not too light or too dark which means I'll be able to wear them in both summer and winter. These jeans were well and truly worth the £38.00 price tag!

I also had to include my funky coral converse just because they're simply amazing. I got them for my birthday last year and have loved them ever since. I only wear them in spring/summer as they're more summery than wintery, I also fear that the snowy/rainy weather conditions will also ruin them hence why I don't wear them. I love wearing these converse and must get at least one compliment when wearing them.

Do you like coral? Or have a slight coral obsession like I do?

Outfit Of The Day: Aztec & Mint Green

I recently bought a pair of Vans and have been wanting to feature them in an OOTD for a while as they're an utterly gorgeous colour. If you haven't guessed by the title of this post, they're mint green.. Yes, mint green (how divine).

I would have featured them in an OOTD sooner but considering we're not having the best summer (with regards to weather), I've had to wait until there's been a day when it hasn't rained (much). So since the weather hasn't been too bad, I thought I'd do my mint green/aztec OOTD.

Jumper: Ark Clothing, Tunic: Topshop, Leggings: Topshop,
Vans: Black Sheep Store

I absolutely love mint green and I think the majority of my summer clothes are/contain mint green. When I saw mint green Vans I instantly felt like I needed them in my life so I went on a mini Cole trek and searched high and low for a size 4. These particular Vans are VERY hard to find so if you like them I'd check out the Black Sheep Store as they appear to have a few sizes, unlike Office or Schuh.

I'm also very fond of the aztec leggings, so much so I bought a dress version too (clearly I'm a saddo). Aztec print is on trend and I'd say that this particular aztec print is uberly duberly funky, I like the combination of vibrant colours.

Normally I wouldn't wear a jumper in summer but since the rain has been a little hit and miss, I think it's safer to wear one than not wear one. The colour of the jumper compliments the colour of the Vans too. Clearly had to wear the two together.. it's the law.

Do you like mint green or aztec?

Outfit Of The Day: Nautical & Summery

I haven't done an Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) post for a while (it was last July to be precise) so since it was a lovely hot day, I thought I'd do an OOTD.

I love the nautical trend and have done for many years, I still have red and navy anchor bracelets that I bought 3 years ago from Accessorize and only recently threw out an anchor tee that I had when I was 16 (making it an impressive 5 years old!).

Blazer: River Island, Tunic: Primark, Leggings: Topshop, Shoes: ASOS, Ring: ASOS,
Brooch: Miss Selfridge, Nail Polish: Orly 'Hotshot'

I love the combination of red, white and navy as those colours compliment each other so well, hence why I paired my navy and white striped blazer with a white tunic and red accessories. If the tunic (meant to be a dress) wasn't so short, I'd have worn it without leggings but since I'm not fond of cheek exposure, I thought I'd pop on a pair of leggings with it.
Red jeans and white converse would also look amazing with this blazer so that's definitely an outfit I plan to wear when the weather is a little cooler. If I'd have worn jeans and converse in 25 degrees of heat, I'd have well and truly melted.

Are any of you still a fan of the nautical trend? And would you like to see more OOTD posts on my blog?

Many thanks for reading!
:)
