August Glossybox - 'International Superstars'

Here's what Glossybox have to say about their 'International Superstars' box...

"This month, Glossybox goes global with hero products from around the world for you to try. Our beauty team selected from brands that are well-known in the UK, as well as products that have cult status in their native country, which you may never have heard of before. We even have a brand representing Cool Britannia herself."

Lipcote (UK)

Product:
"The original lipstick sealer and secret of long lasting, feather fade and water resistant lipstick."

Price:
£3.99 / 7ml (Full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
I haven't tried this yet and if truth me told I'm a little scared too as I fear the brush will get dirty very quickly. I'll have to apply it with a lip brush or something so once I've tried that method I shall let you know my thoughts on it. I've wanted to try Lipcote for a long time so I'm hoping it's going to be a brilliant product.

All For Eve For The Eve Appeal Eve's Balm (UK)

Product:
"Eve's balm is an easily absorbed recovery balm to nourish dry chapped skin."

Price:
£4.95 / 7g (Full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
You can't really go wrong with a balm. This balm would be a handy little thing to carry around in your handbag as not only is it a balm that can be used anywhere, it also has a mirror in the lid which is handy for checking your appearance throughout the day. I wouldn't say the balm was uber nourishing but it's a nice balm with a nice scent. I also wouldn't pay £4.95, I'd get Carmex for £2.00 (it does a better job).

Alessandro Pro White (Germany)

Product:
"Optically brightening effect nail polish with anti-yellowing formula for radiant white and gleaming nails."

Price:
£7.85 / 10ml

Thoughts:
I was really excited to try this as I've needed to buy a product like this for months! As you all know, I'm very fond of nail art and paint my nails on a regular basis but because I paint my nails so frequently, they've become stained and now resemble a lovely yellow shade.. attractive. I didn't know what to expect from the Pro White as I've never tried a whitening product before but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
The Pro White did make my nails appear whiter and brighter but it also dyed the base of my nails blue. I wasn't a fan of the blueness but I am thrilled it's reduced the yellowness.
Would I pay £7.85 this product?... Probably not, but that's only because I'd rather buy a pretty coloured nail polish. I think my yellow nails are going to remain with me forever (too much of a polish-a-holic).

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (Japan)

Product:
"This revolutionary water-soluble cleanser is better than any other make-up remover you've ever tried."

Price:
£18.50 / 200ml

Thoughts:
Saying 'this is the best makeup you've ever tried' is a bit of a big statement as they're a million cleansers on the market so nobody can really say that they've found the ultimate cleanser. Not only that but I doubt any cleanser is 100% perfect.
If truth be told I haven't even used this cleanser and I don't intend to. I'm not a fan of cleansing oils as they tend to irritate my skin/eyes so I was disappointed to find this in my Glossybox.
The only positive thing I will say about the cleanser is that it's a good sample size and it isn't scented, it's just a shame I won't ever use it.

Vera Valenti L'Ombre a PaupiĆ©re Margarita (Spain)

Product:
"An eyeshadow palette offering a selection of ten different colours with an applicator included."

Price:
£3.85 (Full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
I really wanted to love this palette as I'm very fond of eyeshadow, especially neutral and green eyeshadows. Unfortunately I do not like this palette at all, the eyeshadows lack pigmentation, are very chalky and they don't blend well. I think the eyeshadows are set out nicely as they create a lovely flower pattern but that's the only good thing about the palette. The 'applicator' is also a waste of space.

Glossybox Lipstick in 'Glossy Pink'

Product:
"Professional beauty lipstick for soft and glamorous lips with a luminous, long-lasting colour."

Price:
£9.50 / 4g (Full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
I would never pay £9.50 for this lipstick and that is because of one reason and one reason only, it's cheap. The packaging looks tacky, the lipstick has an unpleasant smell, the lipstick isn't a nice shade (Glossybox box need to research what 'pink' is) and the longevity of it is appalling.

Overall...

I didn't dislike this months box but I didn't exactly love it either. I think the 'products from all over the world' concept was a very fun and interesting concept as it was nice to try products that are favoured in other countries but I was disappointed to find the majority weren't my cup of tea.
The products that stood out to me the most were the Lipcote and the Pro White as these are products I would go out and purchase myself. The only issue is that these are the only 2 products I would buy and when combined they come to a total of £11.84 which is cheaper than the cost of the Glossybox itself.
So to round this up, I liked trying products from different countries, it's just a shame I didn't particularly like them.

May Glossybox - '1st Anniversary Box'

I have to admit, this post is a little overdue but if truth be told, Cole has been a busy bee (hence the lack of Youtube videos too) so apologises for the slight delay!

Last month Glossybox celebrated their 1st birthday and what a special birthday it was, I cannot believe Glossybox has been around for a year, time has well and truly flown!
If you follow Glossybox on Twitter then you'll know that they tweeted to say the birthday box was going to be extra special. I was so excited to receive the 1st anniversary box, so much so that when it arrived I let out a little 'YAY' to myself.

So enough of the gabble, here's what I received in the May Glossybox!

I loved how they included a pink balloon in the box, they well and truly got into the birthday spirit!

Here's what Glossybox have to say about their '1st Anniversary' box...
"This month at Glossybox we're celebrating our 1st Birthday! The year has flown by and we are so grateful for your ongoing support. So much has happened in a year and this month is going to be one big celebration!"

I love how the tissue paper has cupcakes, makeup and number ones all over it. It fits in well with the birthday theme and it's very cute and girly! I love the packaging of this box!

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel
Product:
"An immaculate fragrance evoking the beginnings of summer. Noble Isle is a new British bath and body brand inspired by the natural and cultural riches of the British isles."

Price:
Full Size: £20.00 / 250ml (75ml sample is worth £6.00)

Thoughts:
There's nothing I can really say about this shower gel other than it smelt nice. It's not something that I'd ever buy (full size) as £20 is a little expensive for a bath/shower gel but it was nice to try something different from my usual Radox.

Uniqone All In One Hair Treatment
Product:
"The first leave-on mask on the market that offers the 10 main benefits that the hair needs. The ideal partner for every day use for the best stylists and their most demanding customers."

Price:
Full Size: £13.99 / 150ml (9ml sample is worth 84p)

Thoughts:
I really liked this hair mask and this is primarily due to it smelling like suncream, it reminded me of past holidays and it made me excited for my summer holiday this year. The mask did make my hair a little greasy but I expected it would as the majority of masks, serums etc make my hair greasy. Although the mask did make my hair greasy, it did, in fact, make my hair look shiny and soft.

Murad Clarifying Mask

Product:
"This natural clay-based formula draws out impurities and absorbs excess oil to control and prevent breakouts."

Price:
Full Size: £35.00 / 75g (30g sample is worth £14.00)

Thoughts:
Although I don't have acne prone skin or suffer with breakouts, I still gave the mask a try. I didn't notice that the mask did anything for my skin as I have very dry skin but it may be beneficial to those who have acne, breakouts or the odd spot.
Although the mask didn't do anything for my skin, I noticed that it had a nice clean scent and it was very easy to apply and remove.

Eldora False Eyelashes (B126)

Product:
"Eldora is about beautiful, quality and value-priced lashes for any occasion."

Price:
Full Size: From £3.90 (Full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
I was really excited to see a pair of Eldora eyelashes in the May Glossybox and I have to say that these are my favourite thing in the box. I came across Eldora at the IMATS in Feburary and have loved Eldora eyelashes ever since discovering them. The lashes I received are perfect for the day and also the night, I think I'll be using them in my next makeup tutorial!

Lolita Lempicka L'Eau En Blanc & Eau De Parfum

Product:
"Discover Lolita Lempicka's feminine world where Parisian chic meets fantasy fairy tale to create the perfect fragrance."

Price:
Full Size: £65.00 / 100ml ( 2 x 0.8ml samples are worth £1.30

Thoughts:
I love trying out new perfumes so it was nice to see 2 perfume samples included in the May Glossybox. I really wanted to love the both scents but unfortunately, they both smell awful.  They're strong, overpowering and not my cup of tea at all.

I love how a Glossybox mirror was included in the box, it was a nice touch and it's something that I'll use on a daily basis.

Overall I liked the '1st Anniversary Box', I thought the packaging was well thought of and I loved the added extras. My most favourite thing in the box was the Eldora eyelashes, they're something I would use and more importantly, something I'd buy myself. I also liked trying out the hair mask as I'm always on the look out for a good hair product!
I liked the products included in the May Glossybox (except from the perfume samples) and I think Glossybox went that extra mile to make the box a lot more special than usual.

The '1st Anniversary Box' was worth £26.04 which is amazing as the Glossybox retails at £12.95.

April Glossybox - 'The Natural Box'

I received my first Glossybox last week after a lovely lady called Lily contacted me to ask if I would like to be added to the Glossybox subscription list, I jumped at the chance as I've always been eager to try Glossybox. I was looking forward to receiving my first box and I must admit that I was like a little child when it arrived in the post.
I really like the theme of this months box especially because it's helping the environment. The packaging has be well thought of and the products have been carefully selected. It's a nice box with a nice idea (concept).

Here's what Glossybox have to say about 'The Natural Box'...
"With spring in the air, we are proud to introduce our Natural Beauty Box; five natural beauty products guaranteed to make you feel your best, look gorgeous while at the same time satisfying the green goddess within! After all, green is the new black didn't you know?
Get ready to dazzle this season and spring clean your beauty regime with contents of your latest Glossybox. In a limited edition 100% biodegradable box bursting with ethical goodies, indulge in your beauty needs without battling your inner eco-warrior."

100% biodegradable box meaning it's very earth friendly!

The contents of the box were presented beautifully, I like how they were wrapped in brown tissue paper and tied with a ribbon. The Glossybox sticker was a nice touch too!

There is also a leaflet provided inside the box which indicates which products are inside the box. The leaflet also has discount codes relevant to the products inside the box which is handy if you were to buy a full size of one of the products.

I love how shredded brown paper was included in the box as it fits in well with the 'natural' theme. The packaging has been well thought of as it all looks very 'natural'. And I must admit, I agree with Glossybox when they say the box looks 'rustic'.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum

Product:
"The newly-launched ultra-concentrated serum is extremely natural and plant-based, ensuring your skin never lacks moisture."

Price:
Full Size: £29.00 / 30ml  (10ml sample is worth £9.66)

Thoughts:
I love the texture of the serum as it's almost water like, it feels lovely on the dry skin as it feels like it's sinking straight into my skin. The only problem is that this feeling doesn't last and my skin ends up feeling dry again after half an hour. I've been using the serum twice a day for just short of a week and I haven't noticed any differences in my skin. It's such a shame that this serum doesn't keep skin hydrated as it feels and smells lovely. Maybe this product is more suited to those who have a combination/normal skin type.

Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm

Product:
"Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm is a non-greasy, silicone-free water-soluble styling aid that gives curly or wavy hair a straight, tangle-free, and sleek finish."

Price:
Full Size: £17.00 / 178ml (15ml sample is worth £1.43)

Thoughts:
If you read my blog or watch my YouTube videos then you'll know that the one thing I never do is straighten my hair. I love big, thick messy hair and never have it straight, for some reason I think that when I have straight hair, it makes my face look weird. As I couldn't test out the straightening balm myself, I passed it onto my sister and let her try it instead as she's very fond of straight hair. She found that the balm wasn't greasy whatsoever and that it left her hair looking straight, shiny and silky. She also noticed that it left her hair feeling really soft. My sister still has hold of the balm so it must be a winner. One thing is for sure is that it lives up to its claims.

Monu Professional Skincare Enriched Body Cream

Product:
"A rich, indulgent cream to comfort and nourish the skin. Skin feels soft, smooth and nourished."

Price:
Full Size: £23.00 / 200ml (30ml sample is worth £3.45)

Thoughts:
This was my least favourite item in the Glossybox and this is purely because it gave me an allergic reaction. Within 5 minutes of slathering the cream onto my legs, they went hot, bright red and itchy so unfortunately I had to wash it off. It's such a shame that I'm allergic to it as it's such a lovely cream, it smells absolutely divine and has a wonderful texture. It has a nice citrus scent which is perfect for S/S and it melts into the skin with ease, if you don't have sensitive skin and are fine using any body cream then I'd highly recommend checking this beauty out as it's a gorgeous body cream!

Figs & Rouge Lip Balm

Product:
"100% pure, 100% natural & 100% organic multipurpose balm. Excellent for soothing & naturally hydrating lips & skin."

Price:
Full Size: £3.29 / 8ml (full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
This was my most favourite thing in the Glossybox as I've wanted to try a Figs & Rouge balm for absolutely ages. I have to say that this is possibly the best balm that I have ever tried, and I've tried a few! I have very dry lips so I'm always on the hunt for the perfect lip balm but due to the wondrous Glossybox, I've found the perfect one! The Figs & Rouge balm is so creamy and light and it leaves lips and skin feeling moisturised and hydrated for hours! I applied some of the balm onto the dry bits around my nose and it completely banished the dryness! I cannot praise this balm enough, I'm even considering doing a full review on it!

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner in '11 Sapphire'

Product:
"A rich and creamy consistency unparalleled in the world of natural liners."

Price:
Full Size: £11.75 / per liner (full sized product provided in the Glossybox)

Thoughts:
I really like this eyeliner and it certainly lives up to it's claims. It's rich, creamy and glides with ease without any dragging/pulling. The eyeliner can be worn as an eyeliner or it can be blended out to create a base for eyeshadow. I also think 'sapphire' is a beautiful colour, I don't own many blue eyeliners as I tend to just go for the typical black eyeliner so it's nice to receive something different to the norm.

Overall...
Overall I loved 'The Natural Box' as it contained many great products, products that I'm eager to try in the future. I love Glossybox as it enables me to try out products that I would never even think about trying.
One thing is for sure is that I'll be buying more of the Figs & Rouge balms! and I'll definitely be checking out Inika cosmetics!

'The Natural Box' was worth £29.58 which is amazing as the Glossybox retails at £12.95 (plus p+p). You're able to try a lot of high quality products for a mere £12.95 per month!
