Friday Favourite - Real Techniques Stippling Brush

So today's Friday favourite has to be my Real Techniques stippling brush. At first I had mixed feelings about this brush because when I applied cream blush to my cheeks I ended up looking like I had white stripes down my face. I didn't let this put me off using the brush again, instead I thought I'd use it for applying my foundation.

The Real Techniques stippling brush is absolutely brilliant for applying foundation, not only does this buff in foundation really well, it also gives you a flawless finish. The stippling brush can be used to apply other cream products but I'd only recommend using it for the purpose of applying foundation.

The Real Techniques stippling brush retails at £9.99 and can be bought from Ulta if you live in the USA and Love-Makeup if you live in the UK. The Real Techniques brushes are also 100% cruelty free as they are made from super taklon bristles.

Here what it looks like...
I'm so thrilled I ended up loving this brush, it's such a brill brush and I use it everyday! I also found that my foundation didn't stain the bristles. There's nothing worse than dirty looking brushes, it really bugs me.

Overall, I like this brush and it's definitely the best stippling brush I own. I still need to use my Sigma F80 brush so once I've used it I shall do a comparison between the two.

Many thanks for reading!

Friday Favourite - MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft & Gentle'

My Friday favourite this week has to be MAC mineralize skinfinish in 'Soft and Gentle'. I've used this quite a lot this week and I really think it looks great on a summers day. Not only does it make me look like I've got a golden glow, it's also a great highlighter.

The MAC mineralise skinfinish in 'Soft and Gentle' retails at £20.50 and can be bought from any MAC counter or any free standing MAC store. You can buy it online too but it has been out of stock for a while now. If MAC suddenly get a delivery of these, I'll let you all know.

Here's what MAC say about the 'Soft and Gentle' mineralize skinfinish:
"A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra-deluxe polish to the skin."

The MAC mineralize skinfinishes are available in two different shades; 'Soft and Gentle' and 'Gold Deposit'. 'Soft and Gentle' is recommended for those people with a light skin tone and 'Gold Deposit' is recommended for those people with a dark skin tone. The MAC mineralize skinfinishes can be used on the face and the body.

Here's 'Soft and Gentle'...

I actually love this and I can safely say that I'll be taking it on holiday with me! It'll look amazing when I've got a tan!

Hope you like my Friday favourite!

Friday Favourite - Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream

My Friday favourite this week has to be the Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream. This exfoliator is by far the best exfoliator that I've ever used, and I have to say that my skin has improved so much since using it.

The Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream retails at £24.00 and it is available at any Clarins counter and also the Clarins website.

Here is a little bit of information about the product:
"A rich cream formulated with two different types of microbeads - one exfoliates, the other purifies. Lifts impurities and dead skin cells and tightens pores. Contains soothing Mimosa Tenuiflora extract. For softer, smoother, deeply cleansed skin."

Recently I have found that PanOxyl makes my skin really dry, to the point where it's sore and flakey. I sometimes feel like my skin is so tight I cannot move my mouth. I can usually deal with dry skin but it was getting to the point where it was affecting the way my makeup looked. My foundation would stick to my dry bits and as you can imagine, it really did not look right. I decided to use the Clarins exfoliator on my dry skin. I didn't expect it to do much because my skin was so dry but I was completely amazed with the results. My dry skin had disappeared and my skin felt so soft, it felt like my skin had changed within the space of 5 minutes. I am now able to use my wonderful PanOxyl every day without worrying about dry skin. PanOxyl is such an awesome spot cream and I would recommend it to anyone, I just don't like how it causes severe dry skin.

It is recommended that the exfoliator is used once or twice a week. It can be used on the face and neck and the eye area must be avoided. I apply this to my face using circular motions, leave on for around 5 minutes and then wipe away using my Liz Earle cloth.

Here is the lovely Clarins exfoliator...

I love love love this exfoliator! It's just so lovely. It's lightly scented, the microbeads are just the right size and only a small amount is needed.

If there is one product I would highly recommend buying, then this is it. It's fab!

Friday Favourite - PanOxyl

I have a lot of products that I absolutely love but I've recently found a new found love, this love being PanOxyl.

PanOxyl is basically used for the treatment of acne. I do not suffer from acne and never have but I recently developed small blackheads on my chin. I have never in my life suffered from blackheads on my chin so their lovely arrival shocked me. I did everything, squeezed (probably not the best idea), used face strips and purchased a million and one zit zappers. Nothing would budge them at all and it was getting to the point where I wore an inch thick layer of make-up on my chin, again not the best idea. My mum suggested PanOxyl, she had read about PanOxyl online and told me how other people loved the stuff so off I trotted down to Boots and bought some PanOxyl.

I bought my PanOxyl from the Boots Pharmacy and it retails at £3.83

Here's the packaging for PanOxyl...

Here's my lovely PanOxyl!...

You can buy PanOxyl in either cream form or gel form and it also comes in 3 different strengths, these are 2.5%, 5% and 10%. When I bought the PanOxyl the SA told me to start on 2.5% and if this wasn't strong enough then to move onto the 5%. The SA also told me that the gel form was a lot better than the cream form so I obviously opted for the gel form.

A close up...

The PanOxyl gel looks like a creamy white colour but it actually isn't, when applied to the skin it's completely clear. You have to use a tiny amount too because only a thin layer of PanOyxl is needed.

When using PanOxyl there a few important things to know...

  • You only apply it to the affected area.
  • PanOxyl makes your skin dry so it probably wouldn't be useful to those of you who have very dry skin, if anything it would make dry skin a lot worse.
  • PanOxyl bleaches everything, including clothes, pillows, towels etc. It is recommended that you let the PanOyxl dry completely on your face.
  • It's not an everyday skincare product so it can only be bought from a Pharmacy. I.e. Boots Pharmacy, ASDA Pharmacy, a local Chemist.
  • It makes your skin feel a bit tight once it's dried so be prepared to feel like you've had a face lift!

I've been using PanOxyl for 4 days and I have to say that it's amazing! It has really cleared up my chin to the point where I literally have 3 blackheads! My boyfriend also suffers from pores on his nose so he asked me if he could try a bit of the PanOxyl. I didn't think that the Panoxyl would reduce the pores or even make them go away but to our surprise it did! My boyfriend now has such a clear nose so it just shows that you can use PanOxyl on your pores too!

It's a great product for those of you who suffer with blackheads, whiteheads, pores or any other form of spot! And at £3.83 it's definitely worth buying! PanOxyl is probably the best spot treatment I've ever used and I will definitely repurchase when I eventually finish this bottle.

Before you buy this I would recommend talking to an SA about your skin type and problem area then they will advise you on what strength of PanOxyl that you need.

Hope this has been a helpful post!
