OCC Lip Tars

I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago showing you all how to create your own lipstick using OCC lip tars. I didn't really go into depth about my lip tars so today I thought I'd show you my collection and swatch them. (My hand is now stained from the swatching, but I don't mind! :D) OCC have also launched new lip tars so I cannot wait to get my hands on them! They're YUMMY.

OCC lip tars retail at around £9.00 and can be bought off many websites, including: Love-MakeupthemakeupartistboutiqueCocktail Cosmetics and Genie Cosmetics.

The lip tars I own are:
'Anime' - Neon Pink
'Pageant' - Fuschia
'Hoochie' - Magenta
'Vapid' - Lavender
'Divine' - Pink Flamingo (with a coral undertone)
'Grandma' - True Coral
'Harlot' - Cherry Red (with a coral undertone)
'Feathered' - Opaque White
'Tone' - Grey Pink
'Trollop' - Cranberry

Here's my collection of lip tars...

Out of my collection, I'd say that 'Vapid' was the most unique colour. I don't wear it on it's own as I think I'd look like a bit of fruit, I'm not one for representing lilac lips. I purely use 'Vapid' for mixing in with other lip tars, it's good for toning down colours.

I love lips tars and will continue to re-purchase them, they are relatively cheap, great quality and they are probably the most pigmented lip products I own.

These babies last all day meaning there is no need for a touch up. I'd recommend using a lip liner with these as some of them do feather/bleed. You only need to use a tiny amount too, if you use too much then the likelihood is that you're going to get it all over your face.

Hope you like my OCC lip tar collection!

How to create your own lipstick using OCC Lip Tars!

I like creating different things and one thing I love creating is lipsticks! I bought quite a lot of OCC Lip Tars recently and have been playing about with them. To those who don't know much about lip tars, they are designed so that you can mix them. They are a very versatile product as you can either wear them on their own or create your own unique colours.

Today I'm going to be showing you how to create your own bright pink coral lipstick!

Here's what you will need...

You will need OCC Lip Tars in the following colours; Feathered, Divine and Anime.
You will also need a container with a screw top lid and a Q-tip. If you don't have a container like mine then any container will be fine just as long as it's got a tight fastening lid. If you also don't own Q-tips then a cocktail stick will work just as well.

Here are close-ups of the OCC Lip Tars...

This is feathered. A pure white colour.

This is Divine. A light coral colour.

This is Anime. A bright neon pink colour.

Here are the swatches of the lip tars...

From left to right; Feathered, Divine, Anime.

Now you've seen the colour of the lip tars, let's start creating the lovely bright pink coral colour! Just follow my easy peezy steps!

1.) Squeeze a bit of Anime in the container. Use a good amount of Anime as this is the base to the lipstick.

2.) Add a small amount of Divine into the container.

3.) Then add a small amount of Feathered to the container.

4.) Mix a little bit. You'll start getting a swirly marble effect.

5.) Keep mixing until you are left with one single colour.

And there you go! You're very own bright pink coral lipstick, handmade with love!

And here's the swatch...

This picture does not do this lipstick any justice, It's a lot brighter in the flesh but nevertheless, it's a beaut of a colour! A good combination of bright pink and coral.

I love OCC Lip Tars, they are probably the most pigmented lip products that I own! And they are also £8.99 which isn't too bad considering you only have to use the tiniest amount ever. When you use these on their own you literally have to use an amount the size of a pin-head!
These also have a peppermint smell to them so if you're not into that then these probably aren't for you.

Where to buy; OCCLove Make-Up and themakeupartistboutique

I love these, the question is, do you?
:)

Thanks for reading, hope you've enjoyed!

Top 5 Pink Lipsticks

I cannot tell you enough that I actually love bright pink lipsticks! And I think my Top 5 may change over time, 'Candy Yum Yum' knocked 'Girl About Town' straight off the top spot! So now I'll tell you my top 5 and show you some swatches!

1.) So as you may have guessed MAC Candy Yum Yum is like my most favourite lipstick ever! It was part of the MAC 'Quite Cute' collection so unfortunately it is Limited Edition. I think it pretty much sold out after 2 days of launching so it just shows how nice it is! If you love bright pink lipstick and you manage to find one of these beauties then I'd just buy it, you really wouldn't regret it!

Here's what it looks like...

And here's the swatch...

MAC describe Candy Yum Yum as a 'Matte Neon Pink' and in all honestly, it is just as it's described! I know that some people may find MAC matte lipsticks really drying but I really wouldn't say that Candy Yum Yum is. I also found that this lipstick does last all day, it even lasted through drinking and eating!..How good is that! The colour of this lipstick is so unique and I'd say that this picture doesn't do it justice. Until you try it on and see it for yourself then you'll truly get a picture of how fab it is!

2.) My second favourite lipstick has to be 'Anime' Lip Tar by OCC (Obsessive Complusive Cosmetics). At first glance you'd expect lip tars to be more like a lipgloss but they're not. They go on like a lipgloss but dry to a lipstick, you only need to use the tiniest amount too or else it'll go everywhere. I once put too much on and it all went in my mouth...nice! It is also good to know that they have a peppermint smell to them so if you're not a peppermint fan then these probably aren't for you!

Here's what it looks like...

And here's the swatch...

Anime is the sort of lipstick that makes heads turn, you don't understand how bright this is! I don't think my camera could handle this colour! :P It is described as 'Intensely Neon Pink Fuchsia' and let me tell you, there's more neon happening here than at a rave! It's an awesome colour, the question is, would you dare to wear?

3.) So my third favourite is Nars Schiap, this isn't as bright as the first two but it's still got a kick to it and I'd probably say that it's not aimed at those people who don't like standing out as it's still pretty bright. I love this lipstick because I find that I don't have to wear lip liner with it, it's such a pigmented lipstick and it really does last all day. I use this lipstick if I've got a busy day ahead as I know my lipstick is going to last all day.

Here's what it looks like...

And here's the swatch...

Nars describe this as 'Shocking Pink' and I think this is an accurate description. It is a bit more expensive than the first two but you don't need to use tons of this lipstick which is a bonus! Overall, this a nice, long lasting lipstick and I think it'll always remain in my Top 5.

4.) So my fourth favourite is a bright pink Chanel lipgloss. I know this isn't a lipstick but it's bright pink, sparkly and I absolutely adore it! They discontinued this a while ago so I doubt you'd be able to get your hands on it but a close match would be Chanel 'Pink Peony'. This lipgloss is the only lipgloss I own that lasts all day! It's such a lovely, glossy, highly pigmented lipgloss and I'm going to be really upset once I've used it all up!

Here's what it looks like...

And here's the swatch...

Just look how sparkly is it! I don't think I have anything more to say about this lipgloss...it's just beautiful.

5.) Last but not least is MAC Love Forever Pro Longwear lipstick. I don't just love this because of it's colour, I love it more for it's shininess! This lipstick is really moisturising, it feels really soft on the lips and doesn't give you that drying feeling throughout the day. MAC do a wide range of Pro Longwear lipsticks but this is my favourite because of the colour.

Here's what it looks like...

And here's the swatch...

You can see from the picture how shiny and glossy this lipstick is. MAC describe this lipstick as 'Bright Blue Pink' but I really wouldn't say that this is a blue pink at all, if anything it's more purple. To get the true colour of this lipstick I usually put on two coats. I let the first layer dry for about half an hour, then I apply a second coat. This lipstick would be great for those people with dry lips! :)

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my top 5 pink lipsticks! And I hope this has been helpful to those looking for a bright pink lipstick.
