How to create The Duck Song Nails!

I love The Duck Song and I'll probably always love it. It's one of those songs you come across on YouTube and never forget. It's funny, cute and I thought it would be a great idea to recreate The Duck Song on my nails.

It's my first attempt so it'd be great to see what you think of them!

To create The Duck Song nails, you will need:
  • Blue nail varnish
  • Green nail varnish
  • A selection of nail art paints (or different coloured nail varnishes)
  • Nail art tools, including dotting tools (or cocktail sticks)

Please do not feel like you have to rush out and buy nail art tools as cocktail sticks work just as well.

If you would like to create The Duck Song nails, follow my nice and easy steps.

Step One:
Apply 2 coats of the blue nail varnish to your nails. The majority of blue nail varnishes tend to have a thin consistency; this is why you need to apply 2 coats.

Step Two:
Apply the green nail varnish to the tips of your fingernails, excluding your ring finger nail.

Step Three:
Let’s draw a flower on our little finger.
To draw the flower you will need, yellow and white paint and small tipped dotting tools.
Dot one yellow dot in the centre, and several white dots around the yellow dot.

Step Four:
Let’s make our ring finger nail a little fruity.
For the grapes you will need, purple paint and a small dotting tool.
For the lemons you will need, yellow paint and a medium sized dotting tool.
I also applied a green stalk to my grapes but this is optional.

Step Five:
Let’s draw a tree on our middle finger nail.
To draw the stump you will need, brown nail paint and a thin tipped tool.
To draw the tree leaves you will need, green paint and a medium sized dotting tool.
To draw the apples you will need, red paint and a thin tipped dotting tool as the apples will be tiny.

Step Six:
It’s time to draw the duck on our index finger nail.
To draw the duck you will need, yellow paint and both a medium and small dotting tool.
Use the small tool for the head and the arms. Then use the medium tool for the body.
I also gave my duck a beak, eyes and legs.
For the legs use black paint and a thin tipped tool.
For the beak use orange paint and a thin tipped tool.
For the eyes use black and white paint and 2 small dotting tools.

Step Seven:
It’s time to draw the most important bit, the lemonade stand!
To draw the stand you will need brown paint and a thin tipped tool.
The stand is fairly easy to draw. For the base of the stand and also the top of the stand, create a rectangle shape.
I chose to write 'fresh lemon' on the lemonade stand. To do this you will need black paint and a very thin nail art tool.

Step Eight:
Once dry, apply a top coat.
