I recently bought three of the new Chanel Illusion D'Ombre cream eyeshadows and I have to say that I absolutely adore them, I adore them so much that I use them practically everyday.
They go on like a dream and are very easy to work with, not only that but they last all day without creasing or fading.
Here is a look I created...
To create this look I used 'Epatant' and 'Fantasme'. If you don't know much about the shades or the Chanel Illusion D'Ombres themselves then here is a link to my recent post; Chanel
Products used to create this look:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 'Epatant'
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 'Fantasme'
MAC Penultimate Eyeliner
MAC Haute & Naughty Lash
If you would like to create this look then all you have to do is follow my nice and easy steps:
1.) Apply the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion to your eyelids and blend using your finger.
2.) Once the primer potion has dried, apply Epatant all over your eyelids. When applying this to your eyelids make sure you use a flat brush. Then blend out the eyeshadow using a fluffy brush.
3.) Apply a small amount of Fantasme to your inner corner using a small brush then blend into the Epatant using another fluffy brush.
4.) Apply a tiny amount of Fantasme to your bottom lashline using an eyeliner brush. I find that doing this makes your eyes appear a lot bigger and brighter.
5.) Apply black eyeliner to your top lashline and create a winged effect. Also apply the black eyeliner to your waterline.
6.) To finish off the look, apply mascara to your top eyelashes and bottom eyelashes.
It's a pretty dramatic look yet it's so simple and easy to do. If you would like to request a makeup look, please feel free to comment below!
This haul basically consists of items which I've bought over the past month. As you can imagine, it's not going to be a small haul so if you don't like picture heavy posts then you might want to stop reading. Either that or skip to my haul video at the end.
I forgot to mention a few bits of jewellery I had bought so I'm going to include them in my next haul instead. It's good job I didn't mention the jewellery on my video as my video is nearly 15 minutes long, and I'm only allowed to upload 15 minute videos to YouTube! Clearly I talk too much ;)
I had to use stock photos for the next purchases as the photographs taken on my camera didn't give a true image of what each piece of clothing is like.
ASOS Faux Fur Leopard Hooded Coat With Ears - £85.00 - ASOS
River Island Dark Brown Maxi Skirt - £25.00 - River Island
River Island Cross Body Slouch Bag - £25.00 - ASOS
I hope you all liked my lovely purchases! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below!
If you have read my Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color post then you'll know that last week I purchased the new Urban Decay Book Of Shadow IV palette. The palette has been released just in time for christmas so if you're sat there wondering whether this is the Urban Decay christmas palette, then it is.
The Urban Decay Book Of Shadows IV palette retails at £46.00 and it can be purchased from Debenhams and a variety of online shops, including Look Fantastic.
This palette may seem very expensive in comparison to other eyeshadow palettes that Urban Decay have previously launched but in my opinion it's great value. In the palette you get 16 eyeshadows, a full sized precision eyeliner worth £14.00, a travel sized eyeshadow primer worth £7.00, a travel sized mascara worth £7.00, a mini speaker, 2 USB cables and online makeup lessons.
So let's take a look at this beautiful palette...
Urban Decay Book Of Shadows IV - £46.00
Look how beautiful the front of the palette is! It's fun, vibrant and I love the whole butterfly/prism theme. My only criticism is that I don't think the theme matches the eyeshadows very well as the eyeshadows are pretty neutral. The front of the palette is very colourful so you'd kinda expect the eyeshadows to be very bright and colourful too. I don't mind the packaging or the eyeshadows it's just the packaging should have been designed a little more carefully.
I love the pop up butterflies, they are so so pretty! I'll definitely be using the mirror on a daily basis just so I can look at the butterflies. You'll also notice that a card is provided in the palette too and if you're wondering what the card is then it's basically a card which has various makeup tutorials stored on it. In order to view the makeup tutorials you have to scan the card and then you're able to watch the tutorials either on your phone or laptop.
Here are the lovely eyeshadows...
From looking at the photo above it is quite clear that the top two rows mainly consist of bright, vibrant colours whereas the last two rows consist of neutral colours.
Top Row (from left to right): Blue Bus, Gunmetal, Cobra, Baked.
Second Row (from left to right): Bender, Gravity, Lost, Hijack.
Third Row (from left to right): Midnight Cowgirl, Sin, Midnight Rodeo, Crystal.
Bottom Row (from left to right): Bust, Missionary, Skimp, Zephyr.
All of these eyeshadows are beautiful and I will definitely use every single one of them, especially Gravity, Hijack and Zephyr as these are my personal favourites.
The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and as I've said in the past, Urban Decay eyeshadows are the most pigmented eyeshadows I've ever come across. Yes they are a little expensive but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
They last all day without creasing, fading or sliding off the eyelid and you most definitely do not need to use eyeshadow primer. To be honest, I don't even know why Urban Decay created eyeshadow primer because their eyeshadows are AMAZING.
Let's take a look at the other goodies with the palette...
From left to right; Precision Liquid Eyeliner, Supercurling Mascara, Eyeshadow Primer Potion, USB Cables.
Full Sized Urban Decay 24/7 Precision Liquid Eyeliner in 'Perversion' (Worth £14.00)
I love this eyeliner because the tip is extremely thin meaning precise application. This eyeliner is going to be great for creating a wing effect!
This is probably the most blackest eyeliner that I have ever seen in my life. I own a lot of black eyeliners and none of them are as dark as this, it even beats Urban Decay 'Zero' eyeliner and that's blacker than black.
I adore the packaging so much, it's sophisticated, swirly and best of all... SILVER! It also reminds me of the Urban Decay lipsticks because I think they have similar packaging.
I love the shape of this mascara wand, I think it will do an excellent job of curling my eyelashes. I generally don't buy curling mascaras because my eyelashes aren't long enough to curl but I'll still give this mascara a go. Hopefully this mascara with lengthen my eyelashes as well as curl them.
Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion is an amazing product and I think I'll re-purchase this until I get fed up of wearing makeup, which won't be any time soon.
It can make the worst eyeshadow stick to your eyelids all day, it's honestly that good.
Overall this palette is amazing, it's great value, contains a variety of lovely eyeshadows and I think it's a lot different to any other Urban Decay palette that I've seen. The palettes are predicted to sell out by the end of october so if you like the palette then I suggest buying it sooner rather than later.

Last week, the lovely Kerry from VIVO sent me a few goodies. If you don't know much about VIVO then it's basically a new cosmetics brand that has been launched in Tesco. Everything within the range is very affordable, ranging from £1.50 to £6.00 which is my opinion is excellent. The VIVO range is huge, it consists of many different products, including baked palettes, blushes, roll on under eye concealer, false eyelashes and many more!
It was so so lovely of Kerry to send me the products, and I have to say that I was a little excited to try them out since I didn't know much about VIVO. On first impressions I was happy with the products but after using them, did my opinions change? If you want to know, read more!
Let's start off with the eyeshadow trio...
Eyeshadow Trio in 'Green With Envy' - £2.99
I think it’s great how instructions are provided on the back of the trio as they’re handy for those people who have little knowledge in makeup application. However, the packaging looks a little dated, there’s nothing eye catching about the packaging at all, it’s just black with the brand logo on the front. VIVO appears to be a young, trendy brand so I thought the packaging would have been fun and vibrant.
Even though I dislike sponge applicators, I gave it a go and found that it was great for applying eyeshadow on the bottom lash line, the thin tip meant precise application. I didn’t use the sponge applicator when applying the eyeshadow all over my lid so I cannot say whether you could create a smokey look using the sponge applicator. It’s something I’ll have to try out in the future. Another great thing about the trio is that there is a mirror inside so it's great for taking on holiday as you won't need to take a separate mirror. It would also be handy for those people who are on the go as they can just pop the trio into their bag and apply the makeup whenever they wish. They'll have everything they need in one small palette.
From left to right; Shade 1, Shade 2, Shade 3.
Even though I feel shade 1 and 2 are a little samey, there is no denying that these eyeshadows are pigmented. I only had to tap my finger into the eyeshadow when creating a swatch.
The eyeshadows are very pigmented and they do have intense colour but I advise you to wear an eyeshadow primer underneath them. I tested these eyeshadows without using an eyeshadow primer and they lasted around 4 hours, but if I were to wear an eyeshadow primer underneath these eyeshadows, I think these would last around 12+ hours. I have never used an eyeshadow that has faded after 4 hours so maybe my eyelids were a little oily?
I also feel that shade 1 could be a little lighter as it's a highlight shade. I used shade 1 on my brow bone and if I'm being honest, it didn't look right. If shade 1 was a little lighter it would be the perfect trio.
Now let's take a look at the lipgloss...
Lipgloss in 'Nude Shimmer' - £1.99
I haven't really got much to say about the packaging as it just looks like any old lipgloss but what I did notice is the size, it looks a larger than most lipglosses.
This is probably the best applicator I've seen and I wish that other companies would take note of it. I like the fact that the applicator is long and thin as it meant I could apply the lipgloss precisely.
Even though I'm not a fan of lipgloss, I have to say that I was impressed by this lipgloss. It's very glossy and sparkly and it lasted around 2 hours. I like the fact that it faded nice and naturally too because when some lipglosses fade, they leave you with a white ring around your lips, I'm pleased to say that the VIVO lipgloss didn't do this.
Last but not least...
Radiant Boost Highlighter - £3.49
This highlighter looks very classy. I love the glossiness of it and also the pen style design. This highlighter looks more high end than high street.
The highlighter is really easy to use, you literally just have to push the button until you see product on the brush. If you want to use more product, you just push the button again and more product will flow out. It's as simple as that. This product is worth so much more than £3.49, it's amazing!
I like how the highlighter has a brush because it means you can easily apply the highlighter to your skin.
At first I thought that the highlighter was going to be the wrong shade as it looked a little dark for my skin tone but once blended in it was perfectly fine.
The highlighter also has a thick consistency so I wouldn't recommend blending this with a brush, I'd just use your finger to blend it in.
With the highlighter
Without the highlighter
I asked my mum to sample the highlighter as she suffers from dark circles. She has an illness and unfortunately it makes her awake all night, meaning she doesn't sleep well. My mum usually uses the Bobbi Brown corrector and it works wonders so I wanted to see if the VIVO highlighter was either as just as good or better than the Bobbi Brown corrector.
I think the VIVO highlighter did a fab job of concealing dark circles but my mum did say that it clung to her dry skin so if you have dry skin, you may want to try something different. I used the highlighter too and to be honest, I thought it was awesome! Even though I don't really suffer from dark circles, I still gave it a whirl and it definitely concealed my tiredness!
The only thing I will say is that this highlighter can also be used on the cheekbone and browbone and in my opinion, it's far too thick and far too pinky to be used as a highlighter. It's great for under the eyes but nothing else.
The radiant boost highlighter reminds me of the YSL Touche E'Clat, the only difference is the price. The YSL Touche E'Clat retails at approx. £18.00 whereas the VIVO radiant boost highlighter retails at only £3.49! I can honestly say that I will never buy a YSL Touche E'Clat ever again! The VIVO highlighter is 100% better!
To conclude...
Overall I'm happy with the products I was sent and I can see myself using them on a regular basis, especially the radiant boost highlighter! Out of everything, I'd recommend buying the highlighter because it's fantastic, you honestly wouldn't be disappointed. The lipgloss is also fab it's just I'm personally not a fan of it but if you love wearing lipgloss then this will definitely float your boat!
Many thanks for reading lovely people! Have you tried anything from the VIVO range? :)
